Conflict. Such a nagging thing that seems to be overtaking my life lately, regardless of intention. Usually it’s based on circumstance, and chance. And, well…nobody likes that. Oh omnipresent force of awfulness, please go away. I’m pretty tired of you!

I feel like somewhere down the line, I’ll find a way to balance it all (Cat in the Hat style) without Thing One and Thing Two coming in to ruin it all. And it’ll be a pretty sweet day. Unfortunately, I think wisdom, patience and all that good grown up stuff also needs to come with it.
And I don’t know if I’m ready for that.
What I am ready for is for it to not get worse before it gets better. However, that just never seems to be the case. Here’s to hopin’.
December 31 - January 2
New Year’s Eve has always been a celebration of friendship, life and what’s coming next. These past few days were no different, and I’m excited to see what this new year brings.
About 25 of our friends all came from different parts of the US to congregate in a hotel room in Saddle River, New Jersey. People we’ve seen every year mixed people we haven’t met before all came together to get their party on. We exchanged presents, played a lot of Rock Band, and also had a fun karaoke session. Basically a room of about 10 people sang Hana Pestle songs for about an hour while I played guitar. After we ran out of Hana songs, we played some Kelly Clarkson, Evanescence and Paramore. It was good times.
We all passed out at around 3-4 am, and the next day we went to the Palisades mall in Nyack, NY. We shopped around, and then went to Dave and Busters. That was SOSO fun. I love Dave and Busters. I pretty much hustled people at the Trivia game and won about 275492756 tickets. It was good. After spending about 30 bucks on D&B chips for my card, I walked out with a Hello Kitty necklace and 4 shot glasses. I guess in the end, Dave and Busters hustled me. Betches.
Saturday morning brought Breakfast at TracieB’s. That was pretty delicious, and a nice wrap up to the entire event. After about 3 days of no sleep, I was propped up against Caleb’s chair, taking a nap while people poked at me. Then I slept the whole way home.
FUN TYMEZ.
I’m so rocking these jams right now. I love NSYNC.
Sometimes I feel like…
I should have a blog. Or a journal. Or something to capture the thoughts I’m having at any given moment. Perhaps something to chronicle the adventures of my life. I have this large tendency to start something like this, and never finish it. I feel like I’m probably going to want to go back in time and kick my ass when I’m old because I won’t remember any of the good times I had when I was young.
Today is December 05, 2009. It snowed for the first time this year today. Surprisingly enough, the cold weather warmed my heart (ALERT: cheese). I think I love snow more than a lot of other things that I love. It tops say…radishes, cute shoes, and raspberry shortcake cookies. It, however, does not top the love I have for my cat tucking all of her limbs and her tail underneath her, causing her to look like a giant loaf of bread. My cat is awesome.
I’ve spent the day loving Incubus, working on my website for Flyleaf, and eating junk food. I ALSO DISCOVERED ETSY. I’m going to buy thirty dresses from there when Christmas is over. People are going to look at me like I’m some mismatched crazy little girl with red hair and no fashion sense. And I’m going to be happy.
Speaking of Christmas…my SPIRIT is so excited to share the holidays with my fam. They’re my favorite people and I love them. I haven’t purchased any presents yet, but I think that’s okay. I’m an expert procrastinator.
I can’t wait until my hair is long again.
I’m going to start making my own eyeshadow.
I love Jesus.
